The Soprano Warrior: British Crossover Singer, Summer Watson Triumphs Over Breast Cancer
EPISODE 007: Summer Watson is a British Classical Crossover singer who has shared the stage with renowned performers like Michael Bolton, Chris Botti, David Foster, The Celtic Tenors, and Marcello Alvarez, among many others. She has performed for celebrities and Royalty worldwide from Buckingham Palace to stages in Jordan, Dubai, and for an audience of 1.3 billion during the Harbin Ice & Snow Festival in China. Summer has performed on stages throughout the world in support of charities and causes like human rights and cancer research. Having graduated from London’s prestigious Royal College of Music, Summer became the first classical artist signed to a £1M contract with Sony Music. Her debut album, SUMMER, recorded at Abbey Road Studios, soared to Number One on the US iTunes charts. In the midst of all her successes, Summer was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. It was through her own tenacity which made her the performer she is today, that led her on a journey of self-healing and recovery.
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Rock ‘N Healthy Lifestyles has dedicated its two episodes released this month in a show of support and with the intention of spreading awareness.
