Episode 006: Mat Dauzat and Heather St. Marie, better known as the singer songwriting duo, Dauzat St.Marie, has impressed audiences while touring with and supporting top known legendary bands such as music icons Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, Grammy Award winning artist, Rick Springfield, Schuyler Fisk/Sissy Spacek, The Marshall Tucker Band, and Rick Derringer, to name a few. With their music video, “Common Ground” logging over a million YouTube views, and their single titled “Where Were You?” appearing in three separate categories on the 2021 Grammy Awards ballot—Song Of The Year, Record Of The Year, and Best Pop Duo Performance, Dauzat St Marie is certainly no stranger to positive recognition. But after Heather was diagnosed with and battled breast cancer, she and Mat’s song/video, “In It Together” prompted the American Cancer Society to use it as a vehicle for awareness and fundraising in a national Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign. Join Dr. Jen for her conversation with Heather, and Mat to hear how they took Heather’s personal battle with breast cancer and turned it in to a message of unity, strength, and encouragement for all.
